About Janice Eidus

Janice Eidus is a novelist, essayist, short story writer, and writing coach. Her most recent novel is The Last Jewish Virgin. Twice winner of the O.Henry Prize, a Pushcart Prize, and a Redbook Magazine Prize, she’s published five other books, including the novels, The War Of The Rosens, Urban Bliss, Faithful Rebecca, and the short story collections,Vito Loves Geraldine, and The Celibacy Club. She is the co-editor of It’s Only Rock & Roll: Rock & Roll Short Stories. Her work appears in such magazines as The New York Times, Arts & Letters, Lilith, Southwest Review and Jewish Currents, as well as such anthologies as Desire: Women Write About Wanting; Scribblers On The Roof; and Dirt: The Quirks, Habits, and Passions of Keeping House. She is a regular contributor to the lifestyle/culture magazine, www.PurpleClover.com and to the literary website, www.MotheringInTheMiddle.com. She has been a Fellow at Yaddo, the MacDowell Colony, the Edward Albee Foundation, Ragdale, and The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. She lives in New York City with her husband and daughter.
